Can I let you in on a secret? A secret that I want you to share? [wait for it] Every leader wants to be respected by their people and to retain their trust. All leaders believe that having a good relationship with their employees is good for the business. Do you agree with these two statements?

Here’s the Secret: All leaders who are liked and respected by their followers and others have one common trait - They demonstrate appreciation visibly and frequently. You can say “I appreciate you,” but do you show it demonstratively? Many leaders do not! If you want to get more cooperation and be the leader who people want to follow, start by being more appreciative. Do not think of it as work because being appreciate is simply a way to show your love. And you already know how to love someone!
