When I started my career, I wanted to become a leader but was clueless on how to become one. Then I joined a service organization and discovered that, while being of service, I could practice how to lead. For this club to thrive it is vital that we develop future leaders! And who would make a good candidate to be a future leader? Look for a person who is right now having both impact and influence. Yes, it is that simple. But what may surprise you are two facts.
1) This person does not describe themself as a leader, and
2) No one has asked them to take on a formal leadership role.
I’m excited that we are taking on the task of developing future leaders from 3 rd grade to high school. We can definitely help them to become influencers who have impact.
And…
It would be great if everyone in this club takes on the same task. Be on the lookout for adults who are already influencers having impact and invite them to join us.
